Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Some instances of inappropriate colour contrast exist, meaning reduced readability for people with moderately low vision (if not using contrast-enhancing assistive technology) - this relates to WCAG 2.1 AA success criterion 1.4.3: Contrast (Minimum) .

Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information - this relates to WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content) .

Some of our online forms use tables without a defined header row so their information, structure, and relationships cannot be programmatically determined - this relates to WCAG 2.1 AA success criterion 1.3.1: Info and Relationships .

Some of our online forms use section headings that are not sufficiently clear - this relates to WCAG 2.1 AA success criterion 2.4.6: Headings and Labels .

Some of our online forms use field labels that are either hidden or not sufficiently clear - this relates to WCAG 2.1 AA success criterion 3.3.2: Labels or Instructions .

Some of our online forms rely on sensory characteristics to advise users where fields and buttons are located - this relates to WCAG 2.1 AA success criterion: 1.3.3 Sensory Characteristics .

Some of our online forms include error messages that do not give clear suggestions for valid input - this relates to WCAG 2.1 AA success criterion: 3.3.3 Error Suggestion .

Work is currently underway with our suppliers to resolve these issues. These should be resolved by the end of November 2022.

Disproportionate burden

Navigation and accessing information

  • It's not possible for users to change text size without some of the content overlapping.

This site is built and hosted through third party software and 'skinned' to look like our website. We've assessed the cost of fixing the above issue and believe that doing so now would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will make another assessment when the supplier contract is up for renewal, likely to be in October 2023.

Content not within scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

Some of our PDFs are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with information on how users can access our services. By September 2022, we plan to either fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages.

Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
